You are all excited, and rightly so! We have just left your in-home window treatment consultation after spending a few hours picking out the perfect solutions. Your luxury window treatments all start with an idea, a design, a concept, followed by selecting the perfect fabric, drapery rods and tracks, along with just the right finishes and proportions. The professional measuring is complete. Whatever our creative minds could imagine, now it’s up to our team at Sensational SEAMS to make the ideas and visions happen.
But what’s going on behind the “SEAMS” while you await the day that we come to complete your drapery installation?
As the window covering specialists in Newcastle, ON for the past 40 years, we are putting together the final decorative trims and hardware. Truly custom projects is when Jamie is excited to put his skills to work, fabricating brackets that do not exist. When in comes to window treatments for high windows that won’t fit on our regular workroom tables, we come up with extensions of several tables in the shop to get the job ready for sewing, hanging and steaming to make sure everything fits beautifully on install day.
Design is what we love most. When using custom home decor textiles, selecting the perfect placement of the fabric patterns is key. It’s this kind of attention to detail that each high end window treatment deserves. We make new paper patterns for each and every project, carefully hand-drawn, and transferred to what needs to be built in the woodworking shop.
Sometimes our whole house can be taken over by all the custom drapery projects and motorized blinds that are ready for installation day, from the workroom all the way up to our living room. The van gets packed and we are off to your location. A lot of thought and precise measuring is the key for the perfect fit when it comes to the window coverings installation.
Our daughter, Tamara also has a keen talent for bespoke window treatments, design and creativity. Growing up in the business, she is the next generation of Sensational SEAMS, not afraid to build her own projects, and excited to enter her own work in Design Competitions.
