Installation day has got to be one of our favourite days!
It’s the day when all our work shines. We spend time meeting with the client, designing a solution that is “Sensational”, while searching for the perfect fabric, trim and hardware. After everything is made and ready to go, installation day is the day that everything comes to real life. I always say, “it looks good hanging in our showroom, but the final reveal comes when we install it in the space where it was intended for”.
Yes, we have put ourselves into tricky situations, needing scissor lifts and safety gear on commercial projects to get up into tall spaces. The tall ladders get to come out that go way higher than I dare to step. Good thing Tamara takes after her Dad and is willing to take on the challenge!
We get to load all our tools and window treatments into a boat, and have the captain take us across the lake to our cottage projects. Over the years we have called in the extra pairs of hands when needed for installing our projects.
Dogs get comfortable while we take over their spaces, and we have had curious cats fish through our bags, finding our lunch and taking the liberty to taste-testing it for us.
Jamie often comments that some people find it fascinating and love to sit on the couch and watch the “Master Installer” put all the pieces of the project together. Jamie loves to joke around and hear stories about our clients. He has said that if he is the entertainment, he should bringing along a bag of popcorn for people to sit and get comfortable and watch while he installs. This dear client of ours took that literally…living up to our aim, We Make Decor FUN!
But the true pleasure comes when our clients walk into the room after everything is complete for the final reveal. Every measurement, every stitch, every drill hole is done with care and precision.
It truly has been our pleasure to install so many projects over the years and we are always excited to work with our clients to have the opportunity to see what we dream up and create next.
