Custom Window Treatments Designed for Condo Living

Louise found us the way many of our clients do – through Google search. What stood out to her were the glowing reviews and the obvious care shown in our past projects. But her needs weren’t typical. She told us that the biggest challenge was the balcony window that opened right onto her neighbour’s. She wanted to enjoy her days off watching TV without the harsh glare bouncing off the lake.

And there were her adorable cats, who had to maintain their place by the window as curious observers of the outside world.

From our conversation with Louise, we understood that she shared a soft spot for sheers and drapes, and wasn’t keen on blinds. She craved privacy, but also craved beauty. She wanted her window treatments to work hard, but look like they were made for a magazine. That was the goal from the start: create something elegant and stunning while maintaining privacy and easy access.

Design details: Louise’s vision included drapes and more

When Louise visited our showroom, her eyes were immediately drawn to the drapery displays. There was a nostalgic spark in her eyes. Her mom had sewn growing up, hence she understood the care behind every pleat and stitch.

As we laid out a curated collection of fabrics with various textures, colours and a touch of shimmer, her excitement grew. The traditional swags really spoke to Louise, and the banding and beaded trim were the icing on the cake for her.

She looked at our simple sketches and said, “I feel heard and understood, so much that the designs and samples are perfect. I got the exact balance of elegance and bling that I wanted.” That is the beauty of custom – we see the story you are trying to tell, and we help you write it in fabric and thread.

Designing together: Bringing Louise’s vision to life

Custom window treatments are never one-and-done. They’re a journey. And Louise was with us every step of the way, giddy with anticipation.

Every email update, every sneak peek behind the scenes, every photo of the materials arriving…it was like unwrapping little gifts leading up to the big day. And we loved sharing those moments with her, because we knew the final reveal would be worth the wait.

Installation day: The moment it all comes together

Installation day finally arrived, and we were all very excited. It was time to take all the inspiration, materials, and discussions and put them to life to build Louise’s condo into a custom-designed sanctuary.

We started with HungerDouglas Pirouette Window Shades in a soft blush – a brand-new colour – which we outfitted with remote control automation for effortless comfort and a modern touch. Then came the pinch pleated blush sheers and drapes, which are motorized and accented with delicate sequins and embroidery that shimmered softly in the light.

The showstopper drapes: Bold, beautiful, and entirely Louise

The motorized opalescence drapery featured bold burgundy bands, black fringe, and elegant trim, perfectly tailored to sweep open with the touch of a button. No more reaching awkwardly behind the sofa. Just seamless style and convenience.

And finally, the showstopper: Swags and Jabots in a poppy floral fabric, finished with crystal beaded trim, the very fabric that sparked our inspiration from day one. It was bold, beautiful, and entirely Louise.

A condo that feels like a palace

“I’m living in my own palace,” Louise told us, beaming. “The elegance and beauty of my new window coverings blow me away every single time I look at them.”

That’s the power of custom. It’s not just about matching paint colours or blocking the sun. It’s about creating a feeling of comfort, pride, joy, and a sense of home that reflects who you are.

Louise’s reaction

“I am living in my own palace, this is now my forever home. The attention to detail and thoroughness of designing make Sensational SEAMS the absolute place to go for any window covering. I feel like I am living in my own showroom. The elegance and beauty of my new window coverings blow me away every time I look at them.”

When clients become creative soulmates

There’s something magical about working with someone who says yes to bold colours, who appreciates the tiny details, and who trusts the process. With Louise, we didn’t just create window treatments, we co-created a vision.

We loved playing with texture and trim while working our magic on balance and proportion. “Fun” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Watching Louise’s delight at every stage reminded us why we do what we do.

In the end, this wasn’t just another project; it was a shared experience. And it ended in a friendship, a forever home, and a space that now brings joy every single day.
