Room of the Month– April 2019
I usually know what I don’t want, but knowing what I want is more challenging and that is where Wilma comes in.
Why Wilma was called in:
Wilma had worked with Sherry a few years ago. When she moved, she took with her the Custom Area Rug we had designed and created for her Dining Room. In the new house, it found it’s home in the Living Room. This room faced west but had a very small window, un-proportioned for the size of the room.
Sherry also had a chair that needed refreshing, pulling it from her basement with the idea to add it to her home office.
Wilma was able to source the fabric that was the inspiration for the custom area rug, and created a totally different window treatment from what Sherry had in her other home. A Custom Cornice Box with accent studs and double banding, complimented with Drapery Panels to add width and height, framed the small window. A HunterDouglas Pirouette shade maximizes the view and light, while controlling UV protection and heat. Hard-to-reach windows are no longer a problem with the PowerView Remote Control for the shade.
For the chair, we removed the bottom skirt, refinished the legs, and selected a fabulous fabric that made the little chair into a comfortable, updated, statement piece to relax in.
Now the Living Room has a “grand-sized window”, without breaking out bricks and mortar. Sherry can enjoy a totally refreshed look, using the same furniture and rug, but with a Sensational Window Treatment to balance the room. Enjoy Sherry, thanks for allowing me to be creative with your furnishings all over again and with a new twist!
