Room of the Month– November 2019
Cheryl N. (Newcastle)
“For 20 years, Wilma has been the one to transform my windows. Her ideas are always exciting and unique. She gives me the courage to step out of my comfort zone.”
“What I enjoy most…is the fun and laughter we share during each project.”
- Why Wilma was called in:
I first called Wilma when we moved to Newcastle over 20 years ago, and have been a client ever since. She has been with us through all our updates and renovations. After completing the kitchen and bathroom renovations, it was time for my bedroom to finally receive some TLC. I started with painting the walls and realized I couldn’t stop there. My windows were in desperate need of a makeover. I immediately called Wilma and had no doubt she would know exactly what they would need.
- The Sensational Solution:
Wilma always has many samples and stunning designs to choose from. Prior to our consultation, Wilma already had a specific pattern in mind that she thought would be perfect for my bedroom. After experimenting with a couple of different samples, I was not the least bit surprised when I returned to Wilma’s patter of choice as my favourite.
Cheryl’s inspiration was the colourful tapestry. There were so many elegant colours to select from. The first fabric selection of a white background and embroidered floral in stunning blue and yellow began the process that complimented the tapestry beautifully. Colour blocked side panels framed every window, making the space a grand backdrop to the sunken retreat. HunterDouglas Pirouette room darkening shades with remote control and automation move to different settings through the day. This keeps the UV rays off the furniture during the day with a soft, ambient light, and allows privacy and heat control when needed. Coordinating bedding completes the room, with King-Sized Pillow Shams and a Throw.
- Going Forward:
I could not believe the transformation. The window coverings were stunning, and the addition of the HunterDouglas blinds were the perfect finishing touch. Simply…I was in awe…and continue to be every day. I finally have a bedroom where I can leave the doors wide open….I am in love with my bedroom, and I have that sense of pride every time I walk through those doors. I can honestly say I am immediately wondering…Hmm…what should my next project be? Stay tuned!
