This custom-built home in Bowmanville boasts of gorgeous beams and lots of natural light. Brian & Lee moved in two years prior to calling Sensational SEAMS.
They felt like they were living in a greenhouse and had already decided to cover in some of the windows above the fireplace mantel.
This would also allow for better furniture placement and TV viewing for their large family gatherings.
The home next door was building a two-storey apartment garage so privacy became a huge priority while still allowing lots of light to flow into the home.
Upon visiting the home to view the upholstery fabric chosen for the new furniture, it was determined that drapery would serve as the perfect finishing touch for the windows.
Doing the project in two stages made it manageable and we selected HunterDouglas Banded Shades that gave light as well as privacy instead of the existing roller shades that only covered part of the window and had one single function.
With ten windows in a single space facing three different directions, combined with the planned furniture arrangement, remote control and automation became the clear solution for this space.
Sleek rods made a subtle statement for the embroidery fabric that went perfectly with the new furniture.
Sheers provided just enough softness and extra privacy from the new building next door while still allowing plenty of light to enter their home and protect their new furnishings from UV damage.
Brian is so pleased to have the automation set up on his iPad. He uses it everyday and comments how simple it is to adjust the shades when necessary and the worth-while investment into their home.
Lee loves the ease of the remote controls to just touch the button and move the shades without having to climb in behind the furniture.
While sheers were in place on the front door and sidelight, Brian and Lee felt they needed both privacy and view with a modern appeal to the front of their home.
