About 10 years ago, we worked with Terry in his previous home. We were delighted to hear the news that he was building a new home in cottage country. Knowing that he would need window treatments as the project progressed, he reached out to contact us.
It was the perfect timing as his home was still in the state which left the opportunity for them to have the electrician run hardwires for all of his window treatments.
When building a new house, hard-wired motorized shades are the best option.

What a gorgeous view of the outdoors they have! Since they have made some beautiful furnishing selections throughout their home, we suggested a sheer style shade that would give them maximum UV protection to resist fading from the sun.
To keep a cohesive look throughout the home, we continued selecting various colours of the Pirouette Shade that best complemented each room.
We opted for darkening fabrics in their master bedroom to give a little more dark time in the morning. Not wanting to limit the light during the day, the HunterDouglas Pirouette Shade was selected so that light could flood into their home when they wanted it.
In their son’s room and one of the guest rooms, the SoftTouch motorization was selected – a simple semi-automatic operation that is powered with HunterDouglas’s rechargeable battery wand. A simple tug of the wand enables the user to easily operate the shade with minimal effort.
We selected a lovely gold fabric to compliment the Ottawa Senators Logo, but also neutral enough to coordinate with any futuristic theme change. We also opted for the room darkening vane option of the Pirouette for darkness from the sun’s wakening rays.
The second guest room has a very tall window, making it hard to reach and operate so the wall-mounted remote control is perfect and simple for any guest to operate the shade.
The benefits of automated shades in your home far outweigh the convenience of “just a click of a button”. With the new third generation PowerView shades from HunterDouglas, Terry and Laura are able to select a precise time for the shades to open and close to the perfect position throughout the day, being able to synchronize with the sunrise and sunset or even as the sun moves throughout the home to block it out and maximize the efficiency to save on energy bills.
With the love of travel, they can ensure that their home is protected and it appears occupied while they are away, knowing that the shades will seamlessly maneuver at the perfect time. This also is beneficial to ensure that each shade lines up with one another and give perfect synchronization.
With the option to connect through their smart home system with Google or Alexa, they can also easily give voice control commands to their shades and will no longer have to worry about the need to touch to operate their shades. This will keep them nice and clean.
